As we come to the end of 2025, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Baby Lifeline this year.
From families and fundraisers to healthcare professionals, partners, donors, and volunteers, your support has helped us continue our mission: making care better and safer for every pregnant woman, birthing person and newborn baby.
This year has been one of impact, collaboration and progress, and we are proud to share just some of what we have achieved together.
Supporting Families and Healthcare Professionals Affected by Conflict
In 2025, Baby Lifeline sent over £1 million of aid to Ukraine, bringing our total support since the war began to more than £5.5 million.
These donations have helped provide essential maternity and neonatal equipment to hospitals and healthcare professionals caring for mothers and babies in incredibly challenging circumstances. We are deeply grateful to our supporters who are making this life-saving work possible.
Supporting Safer Maternity Care Through Training
In 2025, 2,150 health professionals attended a Baby Lifeline Training CPD course either in-person or online.
Our training responds to national report recommendations and research updates, and reflects priorities nationally within maternity and neonatal services, improving safety, reducing risk, and making maternity care more equitable for families across the UK. By supporting healthcare teams with evidence-based learning and practical tools, we are helping to strengthen care where it matters most.

Advancing Research, Policy and System Change
Behind the scenes, Baby Lifeline has spent around 1,500 hours collaborating on vital research, contributing to national policy discussions, and developing initiatives to improve maternity and neonatal care.
This work is essential to ensuring that the voices of families and frontline staff are heard, and that learning from research and lived experience translates into meaningful, lasting change.
Fundraising That Makes a Difference
Thanks to the generosity and determination of our supporters, over £65,000 was raised this year through fundraising activities including sporting challenges and our Richborough Gala Dinner.
Fundraising plays a vital role in enabling our work, and every challenge taken on, event attended, and donation made helps us continue to support safer care for families.
Bringing the Maternity Community Together
In September, we welcomed more than 450 attendees to our sixth annual National Maternity Safety Conference in Birmingham.
Under the theme Shaping the Future of Maternity Care Together, the conference brought together healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, and families to share learning, challenge thinking, and explore how we can collectively improve maternity safety.
Celebrating Excellence in Maternity Care
We were also proud to celebrate ten outstanding healthcare teams at our Maternity Unit Marvels (MUM) Awards, held at the Palace of Westminster in March.
The awards recognised teams who went above and beyond to deliver compassionate, high-quality maternity care. Five teams were nominated by families, and the other five were nominated by their colleagues.

As we look to 2026, we remain committed to listening to families, supporting healthcare professionals, and driving improvements in maternity and neonatal care through training, research, equipment provision, and contributing to national conversations.
