Baby Lifeline has received a generous £5,000 donation from Persimmon Homes Midlands, helping us provide life-saving midwifery kits and specialist emergency training for healthcare professionals supporting mothers and babies.
Baby Lifeline has supported maternity services through the provision of essential equipment, specialist training for healthcare professionals, and research. In 2019, the charity developed a fully kitted midwifery bag for use in community births, with around 1,500 now in use across the UK and overseas.
The funding will support the provision of life-saving midwifery kits and Childbirth Emergencies in the Community training. These tools will equip midwives and paramedics with the skills and resources needed to respond effectively to emergencies in home and midwifery-led birth settings, which have fewer resources than in hospital.
Judy Ledger, Founder & CEO of Baby Lifeline, commented:
“We are incredibly grateful to Persimmon Homes Midlands for this generous support. Funding like this helps us continue to provide essential equipment and specialist training to midwives and paramedics, ultimately improving the safety and care of mothers who give birth in midwifery-led units or at home, and their babies.
This donation will make a difference to the families and healthcare teams we support, helping to deliver safer care that we know saves lives.”
Paul Coles, Operations Director at Persimmon Homes Midlands, commented:
“We are proud to support Baby Lifeline and the vital work it does to improve outcomes for mothers and babies. This funding will help ensure frontline professionals have the training and equipment they need when it matters most, enabling the charity to continue making a real difference to families locally and beyond.”
Every year, Baby Lifeline supports maternity and neonatal services through specialist training, essential equipment and research designed to improve outcomes for mothers and babies. Partnerships such as this help us continue delivering safer care and supporting healthcare professionals across the UK.
