Miracle birth of Baby Marichka in Ukraine

Published 13 April 2022

Sending our out-of-hospital birth bags to Ukraine has meant we have received countless videos and images from extremely grateful professionals working on the ground, in the most unbelievable circumstances.

The one featured here is the beginning of a story – the miracle birth of Baby Marichka.

The driver of this van is recording Andriy Vilensky, CEO of the Isida Clinic, loading our bags onto his van for onward transport to the Donetsk/ Luhansk region of Ukraine. He says:

“…we are loading our beloved charitable aid… it will help those giving birth in the field to do it safely…”

A few days following this video, the driver of the van reported back to us by text:

“You watched my video where Mr. Andriy Vilensky (ISIDA) is sending cases, used for birth in “field” conditions. So, on our way to eastern Ukraine, we were stuck in traffic congestion near Kharkiv. We have special permission, we started moving around the line and were stopped by military.

They checked our papers and asked about our cargo. After finding that we had the sets for birth, they brought a senior military personnel – major- who explained that there was a women in labour in a cold building nearby.

They could not longer wait for ambulance. Obviously, we gave them one of the sets. WHAT A MIRACLE!!! WE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL WITHIN AN HOUR – THE WOMAN GAVE BIRTH TO A GIRL MARICHKA!!!

Thanks, God, that we had a chance to be part of this!!! Together we are stronger! Glory to Ukraine”

We are so grateful to every single donation that made this happen.

The Ukraine Appeal continues, and we will be sending more aid tomorrow – birth bags, anaesthetic equipment, x-ray equipment, fetal dopplers, incubators, and more.
