For over two decades she has challenged others to think differently about what comes next, after tragic events. She is a passionate and thought-provoking voice in an area that few know about: emergency planning. However in the time of the Covid-19 pandemic, her work became decidedly more mainstream.
She is known globally for her work and holds research positions in the UK and New Zealand. She is a Professor in Mass Fatalities and Pandemics at the Centre for Death and Society, University of Bath.
Lucy’s session ‘After Crisis: Recovery and hope in maternity services’ will provide some unexpected levity to the programme, with Lucy’s quick timing and humour-filled delivery. Lucy will take us through what’s next for maternity and neonatal services, and how the professionals and services can recover from the crises that have hit them very hard in recent years.
