Video: Equipment is delivered to Ukraine hospital

Watch as Baby Lifeline’s specialist birth bags and other vital maternity safety equipment is delivered to a maternity hospital in one of the most dangerous areas of Ukraine, as part of the charity’s Ukraine Appeal.

Since the war in Ukraine began in February 2022, Baby Lifeline and its supporters have donated £500,000 worth of maternity safety equipment – including Baby Lifeline’s bags, defibrillators, fetal dopplers, personal protective equipment (PPE), stretchers and blankets – to midwives and doctors working in frontline areas.

The Baby Lifeline team are hugely grateful to the brave team at Breaking the Chains International, who have been helping to ensure the truckloads of equipment we’ve been able to send to Ukraine reach their final destinations.

The equipment is helping maternity teams to deliver babies in units operating far beyond their usual capacities, due to attacks on other hospitals and nearby infrastructure.

Elsewhere, supplies donated through Baby Lifeline’s Ukraine Appeal are being used to care for women, birthing people and babies in bunkers and makeshift hospitals.
