The Baby Lifeline National Maternity Safety Conference

Our seventh National Maternity Safety Conference takes place on 16th September 2026. The conference will be solutions-focused, with senior decision makers from NHS trusts, frontline staff, service users, and campaigners uniting to help to achieve Baby Lifeline’s goal: the best possible outcome for every mother, birthing person and baby.

Baby Lifeline is always keen to showcase best practice in healthcare and we were pleased to welcome submissions to our poster competition again this year.

The abstract submission deadline has now passed. Thank you to everyone that submitted an abstract – we will be in touch.

Next Steps for Safer Care: From Insight to Implementation

We are specifically looking to showcase quality improvement projects with outcome data, and will prioritise projects relevant to this year’s theme conference theme.

Submissions should outline the maternity service quality improvement measure, including the following in fewer than 500 words:

  • Aims & objectives: outline the “why?”
  • Description of the intervention or initiative
  • Impact of the project including relevant outcome data
  • Relevance to this year’s theme: Next Steps for Safer Care: From Insight to Implementation.

Take a look at last year’s posters here.
