This team's ability to make us feel valued, respected, and supported through both joyful and sorrowful times is a testament to their passion for their work and their genuine care for the families they serve. Their hard work, dedication, and compassion deserve to be celebrated and acknowledged, as they have touched our lives and those of many others in ways that words alone cannot fully express.
This is a wonderful tribute to what is obviously an exceptional team who take the care of their patients very seriously. Providing support to women and their families through 'joyful and sorrowful' times says it all.
Sophia’s Nomination:
My journey with this team started with my son’s birth during the pandemic. Amidst the restrictions and uncertainties of COVID-19, they went above and beyond to ensure that we felt safe, informed and supported, creating a compassionate environment when isolation and fear were at their peak.
Following this, I experienced three heartbreaking miscarriages. During these moments of loss, each midwife treated us with the utmost respect, sensitivity and empathy. They were there in our darkest hours, offering comfort, guidance and unwavering support, reminding us that we were not alone. The kindness and patience they extended to us during these devastating times had a profound impact on our healing.
The team then supported me through the birth of my twins earlier this year. From the meticulous planning of my C-section to the individualised care and respect for my wishes, each midwife’s dedication was evident. They never hesitated to come out at all hours to address any issues, ensuring that I felt heard and respected every step of the way, even when unexpected challenges arose with other departments.
Every single midwife involved in my care has displayed a level of commitment that goes far beyond their professional duties. Their consistent presence day and night, their attentiveness to our needs and their proactive approach in the face of any complications have been nothing short of exceptional. This team’s ability to make us feel valued, respected, and supported through both joyful and sorrowful times is a testament to their passion for their work and their genuine care for the families they serve.
