Kristen Duffy is an experienced midwife, senior NHS leader, and advocate for safe, equitable maternity care. Kristen’s earlier career in business management, gave her strong foundations in organisational leadership and quality improvement. She has a background spanning clinical practice, governance, education, and medico‑legal work, she brings a unique blend of frontline insight and strategic leadership to her role as a Trustee and Director at Baby Lifeline.
She has held midwifery leadership roles in large teaching hospitals and now works as a Clinical Quality Manager with 360 Assurance. Kristen also serves as an Expert Witness Midwife, providing specialist insight to legal processes. Her contribution to maternity education was recognised with the Royal College of Midwives Award for Excellence in 2017.
Kristen began working with Baby Lifeline in 2014 as part of the national faculty for the Childbirth Emergencies in the Community programme. As Trustee/Director, she contributes extensive knowledge in maternity services, governance, and human factors.
She also holds wider leadership roles, including Director at Matlock Town Football Club and Safeguarding Governor at Morton Primary School. Kristen is dedicated to high‑quality education, compassionate leadership, and creating safer systems for families and professionals.
