Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Kettering General Hospital has worked closely with Baby Lifeline over the last 10 years to improve access to training for midwives and obstetricians. Since the implementation of NHS England’s Core Competency Framework in late 2020 early 2021, Kettering General Hospital’s midwives and obstetricians have consistently demonstrated (year on year) compliance in all 8 core modules. Their training is based on current evidence, national guidelines / recommendations and local audit findings, risk issues and case review feedback. Their training faculty is multi-professional. Even throughout Covid-19, training continued with the use of PPE.
Furthermore, last year on International Day of the Midwife, a conference was organised by the Director of Midwifery at KGH for all midwives working in Northamptonshire to demonstrate the amazing learning that both Northamptonshire Trusts have implemented since the release of the Ockenden reports’ Immediate and Essential Actions. The event was attended by over 100 midwives.
